Back in 2003, the Texas State Dems did the same exact thing when the republicans were trying to push thru redistricting in a very very wretched way. They all holed up at a Holiday Inn in Oklahoma so Quorum couldn't be called and they couldn't vote on Redistricting.

It could have worked except one Dem caved. And I think in Texas as long as one shows up then you can vote on the issue.
