Well it seems to me the mask is completely off
we have a handful of Republican Governors that are TRYING to run their states as if they were kings. They do not believe in this pesky democracy. Now this is not surprising to any of us who have spoken to the members of the inner circle. They call it a REPUBLIC and we the people should have NO RIGHTS. As far as tehy are concerned only those with property and a penis should vote. They are willing to make an exception to the skin color. But if you dig deeply you will find this.

So this is not shocking. I hope though that those who did not believe just how radical these guys, and it is mostly guys, are... now realize it. They are RADICALS and they hate you and me. We are the LITTLE people. Ike Republicans were not radicals. Hell, Goldwater would not recognize them. These are Buchannan republicans... and they are that bad. They hate you and me and they want to bring the country back to the halcyon days of 1880... if not outright 1700...

That is what we fight... time to call them what they are... RADICAL ANARCHISTS (The second, they truly do not believe in government, beyond maybe as a tool of repression)

3. I was just thinking that there is something very evil afoot in this country.
Edited on Thu Feb-17-11 05:01 PM by tabatha
The Republicans are trying to impose libertarianism on this country by force, regardless of what anyone else thinks. There are just a few of them doing this - making a mockery of democracy. And they don't care about the pain and suffering they are forcing on others.

This is ideology over what worked until Reagan.

This has now entered the stage they were not expecting though... open resistance. To their shock, there are more of us...

8. This isn't surprising me.
How quickly they're doing it is surprising me. I mean, Kaisich killed 13,000 jobs before he was even sworn in by refusing funding for the rail project. That's gotta be a Guinness Record for something.

24. Correct, they are garden variety duped fascists
As in Mussolini's version of the marriage between state and corporate power. To them, the rest of us are serfs or useless eaters. They want us to be means serving their ends, not ends in ourselves with all the splendor of Enlightenment rights.

13. No, they're not anarchists. They don't work for a stateless society, nor do they believe the state
is evil. They are quite happy with the state, when it's used for their purposes. They are not anarchists at all.

really go talk to a few of them.

Some are libertarians, some are authoritarian, and some are indeed anarchists.

They are all radicals though.

20. I've found that too
I personally didn't notice anarchism, but mostly authoritarian and only the parts of libertarianism that they like ( economic calvinism )

I see all this as the one big decisive titanic assault they've longed for, and that if they don't do it now they never will.

expect maybe the military.

They want to drown it in a bathtub... well that is classic and they don't even realize it.

23. I see what you mean by anarchist now
And you're right. Every one of them ( and I mean every ) express a dichotomy of hate for "the government" yet absolute lock-step adulation of the military.

22. When Gov Perry tried to landgrab here in TX for his 20-lane highway/pipeline (!!!),
we didn't have to march. The townies all along the proposed route simply stated that they would shoot anybody who took any of their land. This is Texas, so they really mean it. Game over.

31. Thank you -
I consider myself an anarchist in the tradition of Emma Goldman - here is her definition that resonates with me: ANARCHISM:--The philosophy of a new social order based on liberty unrestricted by man-made law; the theory that all forms of government rest on violence, and are therefore wrong and harmful, as well as unnecessary.

But to get from here to there ...

Here is Emma's essay for those who might have an interest: http://sunsite.berkeley.edu/goldman/Writings/Anarchism/anarchism.html
