And if I could sing my ass off, was tall and good looking... I'd cash in on "Adult Contemporary" schmaltz too. In a heartbeat.

8. FDR was against unions in the public sector. |
|
"Meticulous attention," the president insisted in 1937, "should be paid to the special relations and obligations of public servants to the public itself and to the Government....The process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service." The reason? F.D.R. believed that " strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to obstruct the operations of government until their demands are satisfied. Such action looking toward the paralysis of government by those who have sworn to support it is unthinkable and intolerable." http://willworkforjustice.blogspot.com/2011/02/fdr-on-public-sector-unions.htmlHe wasn't the only one. The president of the AFL-CIO, George Meany, believed it was "impossible to bargain collectively with the government."

9. thanks; I did not know that |

Though I think that state senator said, though I wouldn't swear to it, that FDR was against unions across the board.
FDR was a great president, but he did have his weak points.
