picked up on a patient's illness that was puzzling docs... and helped a family come to end-of-life decisions for their loved one... 2 lives. different outcomes.

I remember once arguing with a doc over a patient whose lab etc was fine but I KNEW with that second sense after years of being a nurse that something was terribly wrong and ended up being right. Congratulations on a job well done. Hugs.

dying is a fact of life.No one wants to see their families suffer as they die. sometimes the life you save isn't necessarily the patient's.
