In Canada the unions are with the New Democratic Party or Liberals but sometimes |
|
the membership vote with the conservatives. How common is that in the usa (that union membership actually vote republican) and can we hope that those people will now become Democrats? Does anyone know what the percentage of union voters are who vote democratic.

1. It is quite often that law enforcement |
|
in particular the state police, will endorse republican candidates for office.
It seems that this tendency is changing.

and it doesn't even chink their logic armor. All they care about is taking all they can. They even promoted Republican candidates, they often have no shame or ability to self-analyze that way.

Outspokenly pro-union, but loves him some George Dubya. Some people just don't even recognize the disconnect there...

IIRC, in the 2000 election, Bush pulled something like 41% of the union vote.
What's sad is that over the last couple of decades it seems like the Repugs have become more competitive regarding union voters even though their party has become more and more hostile to labor (I guess the Dems have actually gotten more hostile to labor as well, but that's another story...).
I think that's largely a product of people voting more based on social issues than on economic ones.
