Poll question: Should Wisconsin protesters be calling for right wing governor to resign? |
|
I heard radio stories of the protesters shouting ''Kill the bill!" and read an article about how soon the governor and various state legislators can be recalled, but shouldn't they really be calling on the governor to resign?
If the guy's proposal was so egregious and they have that many people in place to protest, they should just go for broke.
Also, as we have seen in Egypt, Tunisia, and even the successes of the GOP and failure of Democrats, incrementalism is a really, really stupid and defeatist strategy. Ask for an inch and you'll be lucky to get a sixteenth, and later the GOP will take that back and beat you with the ruler.
The way to make anything gained in Wisconsin stick is to make it as painful a defeat for the GOP possible.
Also, if you call for the asshole to resign, any concessions he makes will look like he wasn't just admitting he was wrong but that he feared for his job.
I hope this will be a lesson to Democrats, but I know their problem confusion about tactics, but divided loyalties between the people who vote for them and the people who make them rich.
Apart from any strategery in calling for his resignation, I would not trust him on any other issue even if I was certain he'll be recalled in 2012.
So should Wisconsin protesters be calling for right wing governor to resign?

1. Yes, it was one of the chants RECALL WALKER! |
|
people were already wearing the bumper stickers and organizing for the recall which can't start until Jan. 2012.
But yes, one burly guy yesterday was caring a sign: Make like it's college, Scotty, and DROP OUT.

|
Everyone knows the drill on recall, but there were voices on the square demanding that all last week

If Walker resigns, Rebecca Kleefisch becomes Wisconsin governor.
