When do the Bush taxcuts extension expire?
Who didn't know the Repubs would go into meltdown over the deficit once the taxcuts were not permitted to expire? How much is it adding to the deficit?

Will the President permit them to expire next year or will he be persuaded that the economy needs them for a longer time in order to recover? Twelve long years without a fair taxbase has taken its toll.

Should the President let them expire or does it depend on the economic situation at the time?

Was this a mistake by President Obama, in agreeing to extend the Bush tax cuts? People were pissed when he agreed to extend them the first time. They will be enraged if it happens again. He understands that, doesn't he?

2. I thought he understood it the first time around. I'm still reeling from
giving away all that revenue then having to nickle and dime workers to death to appear as though they're doing something. :(

4. December 31, 2012
If he gets a second term and never has to face the voters again, he might stand firm and veto any extension for the top earners.

The challenge for now is for Harry Reid to keep any extension bottled up in the Senate beyond the next election.

6. That's up to Mitch McConnell.
If he threatens to block anything else from getting done in the Senate until the tax cuts for the very rich are extended (or made permanent), Obama will be forced to "negotiate" another compromise.
