Just so I'm clear with Republican logic...
...simply suggesting the rich pay more in taxes is unconscionable, unpatriotic, and, above all, line-in-the-sand unacceptable - but FORCING the working class to pay more out-of-pocket expenses is not only perfectly fine, but absolutely required? Because bleeding the lower class is going to somehow fix our budget problems more than taxing the rich would? I wish someone in the media would point out this canyon-sized disconnect.

1. Welcome to DU.
I hope you are not holding your breath waiting for the corporate media to express something that's not corporate propaganda.

3. Please understand the Republican Mindset. They are the party
of Big Business and the Rich --higher income earners.

They actually look on the working class with disdain.

At least Reagan was honest about. Let the Working
Class pay for all these social programs. They are
the ones who want them.

It is irrational to think they will be concerned about
the working class.

However, they are Machiavellin with it. They throw out
Middle Class as if they are concerned. They call the
the Upper Earners--not the UberRich, Middle Class.

The other night Walker said, I cannot ask these Middle
Class citizens to pay for --increase taxes. Hes was talking
about the rich. By using the term Middle Class he was
misleading the working class intentionally. The Working
Class call themselves Middle Class so they think he is
concerned about their taxes. We do not have old fashioned
True Blue Democrats who would explain these little technicalities
in their campaigns. Therefore a lot of Blue Collar workers
are fooled. Doublespeak is their expertise while they accuse
Liberals of double talk.

Never expect the current Republican Party to do anything for the Middle Class. They have purged the party of Rockefeller or Liberal
Republicans. Their world view is entirely different than
it was years back.

6. Republican and logic don't mix
Any attempts may cause spontaneous head explosion.

There are still people who think that cutting taxes for rich people makes the economy better, despite the clear fact that the exact opposite has happened every single time it has ever been done.

Came across this quote the other day, which seemed right up their alley:

"Don't you know that if people could bottle the air they would? Don't you know that there would be an American Air-Bottling Association? And don't you know they would allow thousands and millions to die if they could not pay for air? I am not blaming anybody. I am just telling how it is." - Robert Ingersoll

and that's all it ever was.

Reagan the actor, of course, pretended it was something else - that's why he was the front man for the fascists - actors can lie with a straight face and pretend that up is down.

14. Rhetoric
All this wailing and knashing of teeth about the deficit is rhetoric.

The GOP has no interest in that at all. Any analysis has to start with that.

I doubt if the GOP actually knows what it wants in addition to getting power and keeping power. The main goal is to reward your friends and punish your enemies.

whereas poor people are parasites.

rich people merely ask for an exorbitant rate of return and will leave others to die if they don't get as much as possible. they are saints, you see, and should be rewarded as such.

poor people offer nothing but hours and hours of toil and whine about not having enough to eat. they are selfish and lazy, you see, and should be castigated and punished as such.

what's not to understand?
