26. We've got a great one here in my section of New Haven.

They also make homemade soups that are so flavorful and good that you want to eat them every week. Their pizza is a delight...and I've had great pizza in Italy and Sicily, so I have reference points. Our pizza stands the taste test.

I don't doubt NYC has fab pizza...I lived there for six years. My son still does...

28. New Haven insiders like Modern Pizza on State Street. But Pepe's has

had more publicity. Yalies like it. I find it too crowded, too difficult to get in. Modern can also get crowded. Mostly, because we are on the other side of town in the Westville section (where Joe Lieberman once lived)we like our little Dayton St. Pizza, a veritable hole in the wall...

We also have, in nearby West Haven, a Turkish community with TWO fabulous Turkish restaurants, but shhhh, don't tell the Yalies!
