Libyan Revolution Tweets, Day 5, Part 4 (MASSIVE Crackdown ALL over Libya now!)

Occasionally, since the people I follow cover Bahrain, Yemen and Jordan also, if I see something really important about those countries, I'll post it here but I plan to mostly focus on Libya because they're having the hardest time getting the word out and Qaddafi's brutality is more systematic and I believe the scale exceeds the brutality in the other country.

They're also the country with the most propagandists on Twitter.

To make sure the Army doesn't swing the revolution to the people, Qaddafi has brought in thousands of mercenaries from Pakistan, Bangladesh and other North African coutries, specifically Chad. There's a Facebook video of a captured mercenary from Chad http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=103697256377254&oid=179449562095105 (Youtube link here) Their confessions are that they've been offered between $12,000 - $30,000 each.

Someone is sending people in for some other reason. Why do people trust stuff that can be "tweeted" on the internet by anyone saying they are someone else?
These events are (probably corporate funded) military coups, not people's revolutions! It's ridiculous...There was a mass exile of people from Tunisia afterwards and the military is in charge of Egypt now. Does that sound like the people have had any kind of victory?

79. I'll give you the benefit of doubt.

I don't know who would send millions of protesters into Egypt with no one noticing and could convince the Egyptians to do something they didn't want to do. If someone had the power to do so, I don't know why they would waste it in that fashion. Trust, it's popular.

Until the technology and media are matured, experienced people can use tweets because they know the players, are very wary and skeptical, and understand the politics and history. It's not something for the de-skilled.

The revolutions are part of revolutions that began at least with de-colonization after world wars I & II. Those revolutions were stymied and fossilized for the sake of oil interests and the cold war. Now is the time to move on.

The primary(only) beneficiaries of the dictatorships have been the elites and corporate interests. I don't know why you would think they would now piss in their own sandbox. They fight back because there is something to loose. Follow the money.

The military is in charge and cooperating with the people because it was the only institution remaining with the power to force out the dictators. That's what happens when free association, free elections, and free speech are throttled for a couple of generations. It kills and weakens other possible institutions. The people are getting and democratic voice and skills back. It will take some time, but of course, the counter revolutions are always the most dangerous. Help them if you can.
