The Cleveland ice storm - pics
Woke up this morning without power and 56 degrees in the house. We have power now though.

This would probably be why I didn't have power this am

I had a car hit by a falling branch as did this one.

The wind is blowing and the ice is coming down off the trees hitting the house. It is freaky right now.

1. The windshield one hurt.
It reminded me why I left Boston.

Ice storms are breathtakingly beautiful as soon as the sun comes out. You have maybe 10 minutes to snap a few pictures, then you need to head indoors unless you're wearing a helmet and shoulderpads. That stuff hurts like hell when it's dropping off a roof, power line, or tall tree.

2. Glad you've got power back.
Stay warm and safe.

I used to live in Euclid. You've just reminded me of one of the reasons I left.

3. We had a storm like that a couple of winters ago.
Sat in the house all day watching the limbs fall of of the trees. We lost more than one tree, with one of them smashing our front fence. It took days to clean up the mess. Just felt sick watching those trees fall.

4. We have a big old oak tree with a very large limb broke off
One hit the old car that parks outside. Can't tell how much damage until we can get the ice off the vehicle.

8. Those are the kind of events that I find fascinating - from a distance!
Did those trees come down from the weight of ice, or wind, or both?

Stay warm and safe...

9. Combination of the ice, then the wind blew up
It was treacherous getting to work this morning.

Transformers blowing up as you drove down the street.
