First the poor, then the unions...who's next?
http://smirkingchimp.com/news/34493/first-the-poor-then-the-unions-whos-next

Paul Krugman states the obvious in "WIsconsin Power Play"....that the actions of Gov. Walker and the state legislature are assigned to break the unions....but as always, Paul Krugman states it well.

First it was Acorn and its attempt to register poor and minority voters who tend to vote Democratic. Now it is the public service unions (the little that is left from the decimated union membership of better years) that they are after.

There is no question that the oligarchy desires to kill democracy and impose one party rule. Indeed they are responsible for the Democratic party moving so far rightward that we may already be there. Both parties do appear to be subsidiaries of the same large corporation. It's like how can Macy's and Bloomingdale's be in competition when they are under common ownership.

Like all societies that are put under the thumb of tyrants, ours will reach a point where conditions are bad enough, people have been pushed enough, and enough has been taken away that makes living virtually impossible so that they say "ENOUGH!"

"The people don't want a phony Democrat. If it's a choice between a genuine Republican, and a Republican in Democratic clothing, the people will choose the genuine article, every time; that is, they will take a Republican before they will a phony Democrat." - Harry S. Truman

12. "we may already be there" - HELLO! McFLY!!
Um, well, not much more to say about that. Except maybe we got there after Steel mills were shipped overseas, which is the first jobs shipments I remember in the late 70's. St Raygun sealed the fate of labor with PATCO, Oh, btw, I haven't done the research, but, controllers today are among the better paid of Fed Employees I'd wager that what they (the scabs) have now is about where the union would have been.

It's been a steady progression of repression in increments small enough to not really be noticed by many until now. The pendulum is so far over now, it's gonna need a hard push to swing back to our side.
