2. and it was cold as hell and
snowing like a b*tch!!

And still it was a HUGE turnout!

There was a lot of "coming and going", too. I wonder how it would've looked if everyone who went there today were there at the same time.

33. It was the same with the anti-war protests. You get 150k to 750k there and...
...very little coverage occurs AND the 30-50 flag waiving numbshulls get the same of more airtime on all networks.

11. Such great pictures!
I was at the Rally for Women's Health in New York City today and we were definitely feeling the Madison spirit among us. As far as I'm concerned, it's one big issue: the far right thinks it can do whatever it wants and we'll just roll over. But the tide is turning!

Thanks for posting the pix!

21. What an excellent turnout
So many great Americans standing up for worker's rights.. makes me proud to be an American! Just makes me angry the media isn't covering this more.. of course, if it were 100,000 teabaggers protesting something there would be wall to wall media coverage! So much for that "liberal media"!

25. more
I was there last Saturday and today...if there were 70,000 last week there was 140,000 today...definitely twice the size of last week. Came home...fired up...optimistic, turn on the TV and 0 coverage...none, nada, zilch zip. Can you imagine if a tea party rally drew 140,000 people what kind of media coverage they would get? pathetic

27. People need to get used to the fact that we don't have a free press
Edited on Sun Feb-27-11 02:06 AM by Oak2004
We have Nile TV West. If they will cover us at all it will be to lie about us.

The old tactics where people demonstrate to get media coverage? They won't work anymore.

Don't use the old model. Use the Egyptian model. Protest to gum up the works, and be in it for the long haul. And remember, we are now the media.

Of course, we could get the media's attention, if, say, one of us accidentally scratched a teabagger automobile. Then the media would be talking for weeks about union thugs vandalizing automobiles :grr:

26. Awesome photos! Thank you for posting them!
Walker has started a movement! But not the kind he intended.

So great to see people waking up and not just on the internet.

When the cops today said: "Mr. Walker, we KNOW who you work for" it was simply unbelievable. The Koch Brothers and their ilk are being exposed finally. What they do is undermining Democracy and should be illegal.

No outside enemy could do as good a job of destroying this country if they tried. I don't know how they get away with it, but shining a light on it is a beginning. I hope all these roaches who have been operating in the shadows are forced to come out from under their rocks.

29. And We'll Be Back Next Saturday...
Sorry folks, no pics but a very uplifting and great time in Mad City the other day. The mixture of young and old...professionals and blue collar and people from all around Wisconsin and the Midwest was a great cross section of not only the people who see their way of life threatened but are what America is about.

Wanker says he'll wait everyone out...find a way to ram through his Koch-eyed plans but we plan to be back next week and even sooner, if needed, to keep reminding him and the other GOTB lackys that their destruction of the working class will not stand.
