Even The Media Began To Sit Up And Take Notice
Posted on February 26, 2011
New media’s role in Egypt was a little overrated – how much tweeting and facebooking was actually done when the dictator could just shut off the internet?

But could new media’s role in Wisconsin be underrated? From which news organization do you think I’m cribbing this most impressive shot most fully capturing the impact of the latest 70,000+ protest in the snow in Madison? ABC? CNN? FOX?

1. new media is a revolution within media
it is the overthrow of a mass communication model that was: one-to-many (eg. radio, broadcast TV).

New media is peer to peer, eg, many-to-many. It is a tool for democracy by its very nature.

Now if we could just dump interruption advertising with broadcast media...

2. I wonder what kind of help he has now and is planning to bring on...
I would really like to see his site be put on the fast track....not merely a one-person blog, but moving towards a counter to the TV media bulshit.

3. It maybe that his NBC contract may prevent him from working
on a 'for profit' website until expiration of his no-compete clause.

7. It is part of it
and you know...

the revolution will not be televised, but it will be on twitter. It is so damn true these days.

I could expand it to... will be on tweeter, facebook and youtube.

6. Oh wait, but I have been told the twitter is not to be trusted
and ONLY that real tripple sourced media is to be trusted.

We can trust them as far as I can throw them... or use them as pop catchers for the conures. Hey, the fish wrap has a use.

:-)
