Why are "Boycott Koch Brothers products" sites now shut down?

What's not to like about these smiling heroes of the free market? Well, for starters...

"My contacts in the webosphere are not very extensive, so can anyone here tell me why the site http://www.worldofkoch.com/.... which carefully lists all the products that Koch Industries makes --- and promotes the thoroughly justifiable boycott of same- has been shut down???

In preparation for tomorrow’s rallies, it would be the perfect time for rally organizers to print off a list of these products and distribute to everyone attending.

But the list of products is no longer available at http://www.worldofkoch.com/."

Worry not - thanks to net neutrality we have an alternative:

1. GoDaddy.com is where it is registered.
GoDaddy must have shut it down.

2. That does appear to be likely
and not a voluntary shutdown by the website owner.

A thickening plot.

3. That's interesting because GoDaddy has a way of registering a site so that others cannot

see your name as the person who registered, which I always thought was a good thing. It goes through a third party or something. Wonder who owns GoDaddy?

7. Practically every domain registrar offers a privacy protection service
This is not unusual.

9. That doesn't make sense
More than likely the site is down as a result of problems emanating from the webhost - which would be Koch Industries:

5. Worldofkock dot com
is/was not a boycott site. It is/was the official koch industries site.

I know this because I linked to it in a post several weeks ago.

Maybe this is a defensive strategy by the kochs to take the product list down

OR JUST MAYBE...

6. The registration info...
http://whois.domaintools.com/worldofkoch.com

Registrant:
Domains by Proxy, Inc.

Domain Name: WORLDOFKOCH.COM

Domain servers in listed order:
KOCH00.KOCHIND.COM
HOU01.KOCHIND.COM

The domain servers are on the domain kochind.com, which is owned by Koch Business Solutions and hosts an official Koch Industries website.

The registry information for kindind.com:
http://whois.domaintools.com/kochind.com
Registrant:
Koch Business Solutions
4111 E 37th Street N
Wichita, KS 67220
US

Domain Name: KOCHIND.COM

Record expires on 27-Oct-2016.
Record created on 28-Oct-1994.

Domain servers in listed order:

KOCH00.KOCHIND.COM 146.209.128.254
NS1-AUTH.SPRINTLINK.NET

Notice that worldofkoch.com is registered anonymously yet uses Koch Industries name servers indicating that it is under the control of someone at Koch Industries. Yet the actual Koch website is not registered anonymously.

It looks like what may have happened is that worldofkoch was originally registered anonymously by someone but Koch got some kind of legal order which gave them control and they then pointed it at their own domain servers.

10. Interesting.
I wonder why it's registered anonymously?
