1. Won't matter unless they amend the budget rather than asking for a vote.

Otherwise, I'd be worried about an ambush.

Not that they'd do anything underhanded or anything...

17. We only need 3 to change their mind to kill the bill.
Then they could start over with something a little more reasonable.

18. Or they could be bluffing.
I believe nothing from these crooks. Until it's unretractable, don't believe it.

14. Not trying to be difficult, but last night there was hoopla about noth'n
I am afraid a 12 hour lag time is about right for things on the ground to make it to broadcast on MSNBC.

The Schultz defection isn't a defection. It's a commitment to his reform, which strips state workers of their rights during the Walker administration.

That's not compromise, that's pushing for workers to be placed on the slippery slope.

5. This should not be accepted until they make public statements
The Schultz hoopla of last night had no caving in it.

He was just pushing his "compromise" that sate workers bargaining writes should only be shut down during the Walker administration.

That sort of caving is meant to kill workers unions.

11. It's a face saver.
Walker can't be seen as caving , so these selected few will cross the line and kill the bill , all the while Walker is standing on his principles.

Walker was probably handed a list of face saving actions and had to chose one.

19. That may be it. I've read quite a bit over the years about negotiations and

the strategy of face-saving. As in - folly to back the enemy into such a corner that he then has no motivation to get himself out of it. You offer him something that allows him to save face while still pressing your advantage and gaining your objective. And if, indeed, there are republi-CON hopes being pinned on this guy - as "the great liberator!" Our "Great Hope for the Future!" "New Leadership!" "New face - and it's younger, too (no gray hair even)!" I've seen this argument made in regards to attempts to remove dictators and despots.

Might not matter much. If it's spun as "WE WON, he LOST", that's all that counts. And we can certainly do that, with every breath! Nobody out there in mainstream medialand is liable to care that much - and the simpletons doing most of the anchoring and reporting will go for the simplest approach, so it'll likely be "WE WON, he LOST."

Which is GOOD!

Meanwhile, The Magistrate is quite correct - these assholes are SNAKES. And they need to be watched. AT ALL TIMES.
