TSA staff jet blew it - Boxcutters taken on JFK airliner

A passenger managed to waltz past JFK's ramped-up security gantlet with three boxcutters in his carry-on luggage -- easily boarding an international flight while carrying the weapon of choice of the 9/11 hijackers, sources told The Post yesterday.

The stunning breach grounded the flight for three hours Saturday night and drew fury from Port Authority cops, who accused the Transportation Security Administration of being asleep on the job.

"In case anyone has forgotten, the TSA was created because of a couple boxcutter incidents," said one PAPD source, referring to the weapons used by al Qaeda operatives to commandeer the jets they later slammed into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on 9/11.

The two TSA agents and supervisor who completely missed the blades at a security checkpoint "will all be disciplined and undergo remedial training," said spokeswoman Ann Davis.

1. Not asleep on the job
Groping genitals takes precedence over boxcutters :sarcasm:

14. How about huckleberry jelly?
They can keep that off the plane, but not a loaded firearm.

Or how about the TSA Air Marshall who left his loaded firarm on the sink in a men's room in the secure area of an airport?
Or the TSA agents who were stealing cash from passenger's bags?
Or the TSA agents who were stealing firearms from passenger's bags?
Or the TSA who was letting drug traffickers through security?
Or the TSA agents that used the body scanners to make fun of a co-worker's small penis?
Or the TSA agent that was caught masturbating while viewing the scans of women?
Or the TSA agent who insited that they do not have to go through screening?
It goes on and on...

In the words of my favorite TSA agent:"I am God, I’m in charge."

3. oooooh... Scary boxcutters... What about a loaded firearm? 5 Times... Through the nudie scanners...
http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/TSA-Agent-Slips-Through-DFW-Body-Scanner-With-a-Gun-116497568.html

"The source said the undercover agent carried a pistol in her undergarments when she put the body scanners to the test. The officer successfully made it through the airport's body scanners every time she tried, the source said."

That's just great...

24. TSA fail. Man smuggles 60+ handguns through Raleigh(NC) International Airport to England..
Just heard the story today:

http://www.wral.com/news/local/wral_investigates/story/9200125/

A Raleigh native pleaded guilty Wednesday to smuggling dozens of guns from the U.S. to England.

In exchange for federal prosecutors dropping 48 other weapons charges against him, Steven Neal Greenoe, 37, pleaded guilty to one count each of transporting guns outside the U.S. without an export license and falsifying a federal form.

He is expected to be sentenced in June, when he faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.

Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested Greenoe in July at Raleigh-Durham International Airport after finding ammunition and disassembled pistols in his luggage as he was about to board a flight to New York.

Epic Fail.

27. I'm still trying to figure out how to afford flying private...
Sofa King expensive though...

The best I could find was empty-leg private flights... They are about the same as first class, but still too expensive.

Anyone traveling from Philly to Portland Oregon in the fall for about a week? Private jets all cost the same no matter how many passengers. Maybe if we all chipped in we could get the price down? The way I look at it if we cram 48 people into a 10 person jet I could afford it... I'm calling shotgun!!!

4. The TSA is USELESS
Their only job is to create the illusion of security while instilling the behavior of unquestioning obedience to the state. I go through airport security at least six times a week all over the country, and "security" is a complete shame run by morons and implemented by the clueless and uncaring.

To me, TSA is THE symbol that the terrorists have indeed won-- by causing us to eliminate our own rights and liberties.

unquestioning obedience to the state".

LOL!

Hey, dude! Let's strike a blow for freedom and REALLY smash the state!

Why should pilots and airlines let the FAA and ATC tell then when and where they can fly? Solidarity!

11. The "Security system worked" because the cutters happened to fall out of his bag?
That's like the ridiculous claim that a bomb got onto a plane, but security did its job because the bomb didn't work.

The security system failed... blind luck is what "worked".

13. No the "dumb blind luck" system worked.

This is a long list of examples where it was persons OTHER THAN TSA that prevented a terrorist attack.

Shoe bomber - not stopped by TSA, was stopped by passengers.
Underwear bomber - not stopped by TSA, stopped because bomb failed to detonate (and subdued by passengers)
Inkjet bomber - not stopped by TSA, bombs detected by package crew AFTER past security screening.
Boxcutter guy - not stopped by TSA, stopped because blades fell out of bag when he was already onboard the plane.

Notice the recurring trend.

8. I'm just curious.. do the x-ray scanners view carry-on luggage from more than one perspective?
because from the side, boxcutters could be difficult to detect.
