My thought what is happening with education |
|
The purpose of cutting education budgets in most states is - PRIVITIZATION. I did work for the community colleges for many many years - I returned for a few months after retiring to help out - at that time there was talk of combining all the colleges into one. Crazy idea because the valley is spread out without proper transportation but there were too many neocons on the board that could make this possible. I also think they want to privitize to teach their religious beliefs and hire those who will teach their beliefs. Maybe this might sound far fetched to many but I try to read between the lines. You know they are trying to privitize everything else.
Call me crazy I guess.

So I do not think this idea is crazy at all.
Part of Walker's plan for WI is to cut WI-Madison off from the rest of the state university system and put it under the control of a board stacked with the governor's own appointees. What a perfect way to destroy one of the top public universities in the world!

Ravitch's book, The Death and Life of the Great American School System: How Testing and Choice Are Undermining Education (New York: Basic Books, 2010). This is a very good discussion of what is and has been going on.
