One thing I admire about Republicans, is when they have the majority
they use it..They shove their beliefs down everyone's throat without any consideration of anyone but themselves.. Democrats on the other hand bend over back wards to be "fair and balanced" and yet Republicans still yell they are shoving things down America's throat..America IMO wants their elected officials to Act on the issues they campaigned upon. Republicans do that and Democrats don't, so it is no surprise Democrats get replaced with those that will act..I just wish Americans would pay a little more attention to what Republicans say they will do and not just how bad they say Democrats are..

1. Democrats never really have a majority.
They just get votes from reluctant "centrists" after the republicans have destroyed everything, and as soon as the democrats don't fix everything the "centrists" will go right back to voting republican.

3. Democrats really do suck at long term politics.
Just look at the Enron debacle...it was a pretty well coordinated plan to funnel money from California to Texas.

It was set up by Pete Wilson with Kenneth Lay's consultation. When Gray Davis got in to office, he got forced to spend bubble money on energy contracts with hyper-inflated prices, because of rolling blackouts and massive outages. Gee what a surprise...that put the same repukes back into position to fund a recall election, which he lost, and then they put idiot-musclehead in power, who, with shrubs help, settled the lawsuit for pennies on the dollar. And now we in California are completely fucked, and Texas is a war/oil power house.

It was a pure political genius and just the fact that California actually let it happen, is pure proof that the Democrats are absolutely incompetent when it comes to long term political maneuvering.

I have just resigned myself to the fact that the republicans simply aren't American. They have been constantly weakening America and enriching foreign allies, all while wrapped in the American flag. It's hilarious and disgusting and the same time.

5. The fact that Republicans are un American and have spent decades weakening America
Should be common knowledge but it seems only a few are aware..Everything they do is designed to Divide and Conquer, and enrich themselves off America's National Treasury...Is America really this dense? They can't see the forest for the trees..

10. Union busting and defunding education have the same goal.
Weakening the Democratic party. Workers who contribute to unions that fund Democratic candidates and an informed electorate are a serious threat to Republican hegemony. It is in the GOP's best interest to foster an America this dense. America's best interest? Not in play.

4. So do we; and freepers are just as pissed at Boehner as we were at Obama and Reid

Each side sees their own side as ineffectual and the other as rampaging tyrants.

Seriously, this exact reverse question gets asked on FR all the time: "why are the Democrats capable of getting so much done while Republicans just sit around and refuse to fight for anything? Why don't GOP pols have any spine?" etc.

Both we and the Freepers discount our victories since we think they should simply be taken for granted, and focus on our frustrations.

9. They like to run government like a business.
A dictatorship.

I don't admire that. I admire the messy and chaotic process of Democracy, that every now and then, produces things of social value.

11. As Bill Clinton says...
..."When people are insecure, they'd rather have somebody who is strong and wrong than someone who's weak and right."

Of course, the GOP tactic has always been to first use fear to make the public insecure and then play the "strong and wrong" role to get the public on their side.
