Has anyone seen how Scott Walker has explained away the Police and Fire unions not being impacted? |
|
I know they supported him in the election? But he obviously will not use that as the excuse.
What was his public explanation why he did not attack those unions?

1. Yes...the argument was they are essential for safety. |

But the reality is that during the election he made them a Quid Pro Quo
Police and firefighters are forced to live in Milwaukee to have jobs there. The unions dislike that rule. They backed Walker in return for his pledge to remove that rule.
It's painful and that may be less nuanced that it could be, but it's the truth.
Now they have MAJOR buyer's remorse.

2. This act completely destroys the "Logic" of it all |
|
Supposedly they believe Government should be immune from Labor Relations because it is so important..The most important imo are the first responders, Police, Fire Dept, and EM/Medical responders. Yet those are the ones they keep Unionized, and strip the teachers and nurses and janitors, and filing clerks, etc. of Union privilege. Their Logic is extremely flawed IMO..And they know it and don't care if anyone else knows it or not..

3. I agree, this is the biggest proof he is not using logic! |

4. It seems so blatant that *anyone* would "get it." |

"It" being that he's abusing his authority to pursue a political agenda.
However... it hasn't been well reported ( Surprise! The $$ media likes him!). This may account for the 45% or so approval he still seems to enjoy.
