Religious Right Fanatics Harass Muslim Man in Silent Prayer
from AlterNet:

Religious Right Fanatics Harass Muslim Man in Silent Prayer

TPM's Ryan Reilly reports that the ludicrous "pro-sharia" rally at the White House that Fox "News" has been pimping of late never happened. But a planned counter-rally did take place, and as it was breaking up a Muslim man showed up to pray in front of the White House. According to Reilly, "He was quickly surrounded by a large group of protestors who shouted an array of insults at him: mocking him for drinking Starbucks coffee, telling him to go back to his country and even throwing tiny crosses at his feet as he prayed."

A cop told Reilly that the man shows up every few days to pray silently.

Here's some disturbing video of the incident: http://www.alternet.org/newsandviews/article/511890/religious_right_fanatics_harass_muslim_man_in_silent_prayer/

And here's another video, taken at a dinner held for an American Muslim organization where a bunch of Tea Party lunatics hurled epithets at the attendees. Notice the shouts of "U! S! A!" and "Go back home!" These pathetic excuses for human beings don't seem to grasp that they're screaming this at American citizens of a different faith. ............(more)

7. These people need to study the history behind the separation of church and state
That was put in to PROTECT some sects of Christianity from being persecuted by a state sponsored religion. My ancestors left Europe because of religious harassment. Some of them landed in colonies that did not like the religions they brought with them and others changed their religion and left where they were living because they no longer were acceptable in the colony where they had been born.

Some of those people were Baptists, one of the sects that is now pushing to be the "state" religion and one that wants to force the rest of the country to live by their precepts. My ancestors dragged the Baptist religion into frontier areas of Virginia because they were not tolerated in Pennsylvania by the Quakers or in Maryland by the Church of England. And they continued that intolerance - one ancestor was censured because he married a non-Baptist!

If the "founders" had not included that clause in our Constitution, we might have enclaves of various religions in different states across this country where people of different beliefs were not permitted to live. What a horrific vision! But that seems to be what their American Talibaptists want.

8. And if the situation we're reversed?
...with a crowd of Muslims harassing Christians in prayer on Capitol Hill (which happens daily, inside and out) - Fox and CNN and every other concern troll media outlet would literally get stigmata from the celebratory high-fives. "It's ratings Gold, Baby!"

9. Ah but those Christo-Baboons

are so persecuted, don't you know?

They aren't allowed to worship or to wear their crosses wherever they like.

They are absolutely tormented by the persecution of non-believers and the librull media. No freedom of religion at all for these poor dears.

They have to hold their Baptist preachin' in secret, you know. And No Republican politician can even mention the name of The Loward... or he or she will be kicked out of office. It's true! I heard it on the Sebenhunnerd Clubb!

So no wonder they're ready and willing to trample on the religious freedom of someone else.

They're so oppressed and all.

Do I even need it? Aw, what the hell...

:sarcasm:
