Imagine you own a 17,000SF condo. The big question: Where to put the indoor, private gun range.
This was supposed to be all hush-hush. Expecting it to *stay* hush-hush is like expecting an early 20s presidential intern staying quiet about having administered a presidential blow job.

Condo owner wants gun range at Ritz-Carlton penthouse
City officials scrambling to determine legality

The condos at the Ritz-Carlton Residences offer "luxurious waterfront living" — with breathtaking views of Baltimore's Inner Harbor . . . . >snip< . . . . But that's not enough for one resident . . . . >snip< . . . . (exploring) permits that might be needed to build a gun range in one of the penthouse-level condos . . . . >snip< . . . . Inquiries about the gun range were meant to be hush-hush, . . . . >snip< . . . . Equally elusive is the identity of the person who wants the range.

The most prominent Ritz-Carlton resident is gun enthusiast and suspense-thriller author Tom Clancy. He has spent $16.6 million buying up six penthouses, an entire level of one of the buildings, giving him 17,000 square feet of living space.

But the architect hired to design the gun range, John Chalk of Ellicott City, said he does not know the name of the condo owner. A New York interior design company hired him, but his paperwork simply refers to "the client," Chalk said.

6. I actually thought the story was funny. Hence my reportage.
Were I an editor, this would be in the "Lighter Side of the News" section.

Not everything posted on DU is deadly serious.

8. Sorry, I didn't read the post that way.
I read a lot of posts on DU by people who are outraged about things that really aren't all that important and I was scratching my head to fugure out what the big deal was all about.

10. One of the biggest issues with firing ranges is the lead
it requires very specific air filtration and cleaning techniques. I believe this is the larger issue.
