Boycotting The Huffington Post: Anyone know of other News Aggregator sites |
|
Edited on Mon Mar-07-11 07:51 PM by erodriguez
So I am boycotting the Huffington Post in soliderity with its writers. http://www.webpronews.com/2011/03/06/huffington-post-contributor-goes-on-strike-huffington-doesnt-care/I usually checked HP to see the days headlines. I need another. Anyone else know of a good news aggregator?

DU and Facebook, depending upon what you select as "likes" it is not too bad.
Alternet, Common Dreams, etc all have a FB presence.

They have a free app for anything mobile, I have it on my iPad.
It is a mixture of a bunch of good news sites and the news is told by young people.
My son n law told me about it. I think they use new York times, msnbc and some other places.
I am like you I check here, daily kos and huff po before but trying to do less of huff po and more newsy.

10. Another one to watch is http://topicfire.com/Politics |

If you use twitter you can see things as they come up more quickly as well. I recommend a separate twitter application such as TweetDeck so it doesn't interfere with your regular browsing.

12. Hell, I say boycott them for all the crap they publish! |

I really don't need the gossip trash, semi-nude obscure celebrities and constant Sarah Palin updates. HuffPo does have some good stuff, but you really have to wade through a lot of bullshit to get to it.

16. unite and state www.uniteandstate.com |
|
I just started watching www.uniteandstate.com after hearing about it on NPR and tonight CNN was talking about the 9/11 video posted on it.
Its a site that news is reported and written by its users. So join and you will be the aggregator. I did not join yet. I plan on it tonight at some point.

17. I find DU the best place to check headlines. |

LBN was such as attraction to me when I was first looking. The writers here are good as well. I write at another place as well as here but I'm not that good and it is politically incorrect to mention the other place here. But nowhere beats this place for information you need.
