Women's Committee calls for demonstrations against mullahs' regime on Women's Day

The one hundredth anniversary of the International Women's Day shall be recorded in history by Iranian women's chants of "Death to dictator" and "Down with the principle of Velayat-e faqih"

NCRI - Following a call by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, on February 26, the Women's Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran called on all oppressed Iranian women to rise up against the misogynist religious fascism ruling Iran on the International Women's Day on Tuesday, March 8, to demonstrate and stage protests throughout Iran against the clerical regime, together with their brothers.

On February 26, Mrs. Rajavi stated: "In the last three decades, the Iranian society has continuously stood against the religious fascism through the steadfastness of Iranian women. During these years, tens of thousands of courageous women have been tortured and executed in their struggle against the regime ruling Iran. Defeat of fundamentalists is certain in the hands of these women who shall change the face of our world."

Ms. Chitsaz, Chair of NCRI Women's Committee, pointed to the double oppression imposed on the Iranian woman in three decades of disgraceful rule of mullahs. She recalled the memory of combative women who courageously died under medieval tortures or were hanged by the clerical regime. She praised the gallantry of the 1,000 heroines in Ashraf who are symbols of resistance and fortitude for all Iranians, especially Iranian women. Ms. Chitsaz said that today, the equality movement in Iran can only be realized through the overthrow of a regime based on misogyny as an integral part of its nature.

Ms. Chitsaz, while hailing women who have participated in the uprisings of Iranian people and who have had leading roles in many of them stated: "The one hundredth anniversary of Women's Day shall be recorded in the history of women's resistance with the chants of "Death to Khamenei" and "Death to the principle of Velayat-e faqih (absolute rule of clergy)" of Iranian women.
