Flying? Want to avoid scanners? Website offers airport scanner/TSA status info.
(Pls. kick if you think this is helpful info.)

What's the status of the TSA's scanners?
They're not at every airport and they're not always in use.
We're providing this information to help you avoid the machines if you have concerns about privacy, radiation, security theater or simply don't want your junk touched. Use this list, and if you are flying, note the security status and submit the latest information (now with live updating!).

4. Throw a punch and get free room and board.
You've completely flipped the script on feelings about TSA.

2. Or simply don't fly.
Since the choice is between the nudity-scope or invasive pat down, then it is really no choice at all. The only real choice left is whether you're going to allow yourself to be subject to such invasive procedures, or not.

I prefer not.

5. Downside: TSA is popping up at bus stations now.
Even screening passengers AFTER bus trips.

"A video of Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) screening passengers at a Savannah, Georgia Amtrak station has been gaining quite a bit of attention and many are wondering why they were screening passengers who had just disembarked from a train.

The screening shown in the video was done in conjunction with a VIPR operation.
During VIPR operations, any person entering the impacted area has to be screened.
It should be noted that disembarking passengers did not need to enter the station to claim luggage or get to their car.

On top of the above happening, it was not even supposed to happen. The TSA blog says:
"this particular VIPR operation should have ended by the time these folks were coming through the station since no more trains were leaving the station. We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused for those passengers."

Riiight.....the standard "inconvenience" apology AFTER the fact always makes SUCH a difference.:sarcasm:

6. I can think of several "inconveniences" I'd like to inflict on TSA.
