NYT: Rise in Ethnoburbs
Interesting article in the NYT regarding the rise of predominantly non-white suburbs - http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/10/rise-of-the-ethnoburbs/?scp=1&sq=asian%20suburbs&st=cse.

Where historically ethnic groups have congregated in cities - Little Italy, Chinatown, etc. - the rise of middle class to upper middle class ethnic groups - Asian, Hispanic - has let to the rise of suburbs with predominantly ethnic populations.

I found this interesting, and I like reading Timothy Egan.

I got to thinking about these developments and wonder whether these groups are likely to vote D or R. I know the question kind of invites sweeping generalizations, but I was wondering. Immigrant groups have traditionally voted D, but I wonder whether the rise in affluence prompts a political trend to the right.
