Bob Dole: 'I Want To Be Trump's VP'

Former Sen. Bob Dole, R-Kan., is still recuperating from knee-replacement surgery, but he hasn't lost a step where his reputation for deadpan humor is concerned.

In an interview with National Journal, the 1996 GOP presidential nominee offered a number of tart observations on the 2012 Republican field.

With political exes like Newt Gingrich and Buddy Roemer—both off the campaign trail for more than a decade—entering the race, Dole quipped: "Maybe I can run again."

On second thought: "No, I want to be Donald Trump's VP. I can borrow his airplane."
