Ok... I Was Holding It Together, Until This...

A mother tries to talk to her daughter who has been isolated for signs of radiation after evacuating from the vicinity of Fukushima\'s nuclear plants, at a makeshift facility to screen, cleanse and isolate people with high radiation levels in Nihonmatsu, northern Japan, March 14, 2011. 13. No "miracles" needed.
The radiation levels are not high enough to kill anybody.

16. Exposure to 100 mSv a year leads to increased likelihood of developing cancer.
Peak levels at the Fukushima plant were up to 400 mSv per hour.

Having no idea what levels this person was exposed to, or for how long, I would in no way make the statement you just did.

5. At least she is receiving medical attention and not lost somewhere alone.
and hopefully will be released without any signs of radiation sickness. Gotta look for something positive.

28. I was wondering that too...they're already so jammed with people.
Now they wonder if miles of land around the city will be inhabitable...like forever. Where will those displaced people go? I think they will have a lot of homeless like we do here. It's such a sad situation.

10. It reminds me of an old Star Trek episode when Spok
had been irradiated and Jim and Spok we talking and saying their good-byes. Spok was behind a glass door and died as he held up his Go in peace sign.

This is worse cause it is real.

14. A couple of things
First, it's Spock. Second, that was from one of the Star Trek movies. The second one I think.

Thanks for including. The only science fiction I ever really liked was the original Star Trek series and for that, I blame my dad.

15. That's not the entire photograph
The mother has a dog on a leash who, if I recall correctly, is up on his hind legs with his paws on the window looking at the daughter.

20. Sometimes words just aren't there. It's like an out of body experience. I just can't imagine what
these people are going through. I pray they can cope with the help of god. I wonder how we americans can stand what happened to them. I don't think we could.

Please let this daughter be cleansed of the radiation and reunited w/ her mother.

Again, fuck nuclear power. What a terrible discovery/invention/killer.
