If you're thinking of leaving the area the cloud apparently hits up North, Washington / Oregon / Bay Area first so why wait until the Santa Monica figures come in?
This is according to prevailing wind maps floating around the interwebs.
I wonder how this will affect the already stressed seafood industry, sigh.

Cindy Folkers from www.beyondnuclear.org. She says there are lots of citizen monitoring stations up and down the coastline.
Didn't find a list of them at first glance around the site and can't look too much since I'm at work now.
