the rest of us were learning valuable lessons from PBS broadcasts. No wonder they want to defund them.

1. Funny, yesterday there was a post about prying what we want out of rich people's hands.
I asked if that wasn't stealing and was informed it is "scavenging".

I think both sides think the other wants to "steal" from them. The left believes commerce steals from them and the right believes taxation steals from them.

4. It's hard to find a non-flame response to such a twittish post.
Suppose you buy a hat at a store. The hat is infected with lice. You suffer as a result of the store's bad sanitation. And the store goes on, knowingly selling lice-ridden hats.

What should happen?

Should the government shut the store down? Conservatives say no. They decry "regulation," they condemn "government control," and they try to enact laws making sure government agencies can't protect people.

Should you be able to sue the store? Conservatives say no. They decry our "litigious society," and they try to enact laws making sure the courts can't punish bad companies.

What do conservatives think should happen? They think "the invisible hand of the free market" will solve the problem. They think, eventually, the store that knowingly sells harmful products will get a bad reputation and shut down.

This is a core principle of conservative economics. And it is such a ridiculous pile of crap. A roadside diner would be allowed to serve food that made people sick, and no one driving from coast to coast knows the reputation of roadside diners. The diseased diner would sicken people for decades.

All of this is to say, you've generalized an extreme, anti-left smear based on the words of one person on a message board -- word which were probably tongue-in-cheek -- and ignored the reality of what conservatism is. You've stated this ludicrous false equivalency. You think you've somehow refuted the OP's suggestion, but you haven't; you posted a non-sequitur. A non-sequitur grounded in deception -- self-deception and the deception of others.

This is a long and elaborate post, because anything more succinct would be a flame. Do the world a favor and read about economics before posting ridiculous attacks on the left.
