Would this work ?
Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.
You can call it the "PatrioticRetirement Plan":

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new AMERICAN Car. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes..

Is this practical ?

3. Eh?
If that happened, I'd hire a maid, a gardener, a driver and all kinds of help and pay them real well.

Wouldn't that lead to full employment?

Did you know the capitalists hate full employment?
People hungry for work drive wages down.

So.... first we have to crush the capitalists, eh?

4. I'd go for it too, however
Let's say you're 50, you spend $300k on a home, $20k on a car, $80k paying off other debts. So you have $600k left for retirement. That's 10 years at $60k/year or 20 years at $30k/year. Is that enough?

6. Ah, those bastages
fooling with numbers again. They made it look like it would only cost $40 million.
Way too early for this crap.
