A simple plan to end both wars.
Reinstate the draft. Both wars will be over in 10 minutes.

6. Take it one step further
pass legislation that the wars will be funded by a "War Tax". A flat 10% of your gross earnings. Start with the highest wage earners and work down the list until there is sufficient funds to sustain the troops. It's only fair the rich should pay for it, since the lower wage earners, or their children are the ones serving and dying in the armed forces.

11. They'll sell life insurance policies to the families of GI
When the families go to collect, because the wars are crusades, then it's an Act of God. They don't have to pay!

4. I have been beating that dead horse for a few years now.
No one feels a threat. Not the parents, not those who would be called up. It's easy to hang back and play xBox or whatever.

Being a product of the 60's I know why my generation took to the streets - survival. And of course, many had a strong moral position against the war.

We need to GET OUT NOW!

7. Influential people can avoid being drafted.
People who want to end the wars don't seem to be particularly influential. Thus, your plan could backfire and cause the death of many people who oppose the continuation of the wars.

10. We don't have to just draft sons of influential people to...
...effect change.

When I served (1970's) there were people from all walks of life in the military. And there were many who were subject to the draft, or parents of those subject, who began to speak up against the wars.

Today tere are many who oppose the continuation of the wars who are dying now - they're called soldiers, airmen, etc. The idea that service members are pro-war is a fallacy. They know, more than any others, the horrors of war.

We have a poverty draft. We need a lottery draft.

8. Because that worked so well in Vietnam, which was you know until recently
America's longest running war. Korea's another great example. And the draft kept America out of World War I.

Seriously, all you're doing is giving them more cannon fodder. Then Hilary can finally have 80,000 more troops in Afghanistan like she wanted.

12. Disagree. Nixon ended the draft because he saw it...
...as the "problem" that caused Americans from across the social spectrum to shift their opinions against the war.
