Kucinich warns Obama that he's going after funding for Libya

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) notified President Obama Thursday of his plan to introduce an amendment in the House that would defund the U.S. intervention in Libya, saying it's time to "stop U.S. participation in the war entirely."

Since the U.S. began enforcing a United Nations Security Council no-fly zone resolution and performing airstrikes on Libyan military targets, Kucinich has been one of the most outspoken opponents of American involvement.

The liberal congressman is among a handful of lawmakers who criticized Obama for not getting congressional authorization before authorizing the U.S. military to enforce the no-fly zone.

The White House pushed back on that criticism Thursday, saying lawmakers were briefed and consulted at length before the airstrikes began. White House spokesman Jay Carney said the U.S. had to act quickly in Libya to save lives.

3. The Republicans hate everything Pres. Obama has done...
...but even they're not stupid enough to endorse a defunding resolution that'll be turned around as "not standing with our troops" in 100 campaign ads next year. Dennis can posture all he wants, but it won't make a difference.

16. Umm...voting against the war and introducing articles of impeachment?
Did you forget? He voted against the war, has voted against funding it, and cited it in the articles of impeachment against * he introduced.

15. Do you have proof for the useful intelligence?
Because last I heard, Gaddafi was claiming that the Libyans rose against him because Al Qaeda was spiking their Nescafe with drugs. Sounds real useful, that does.

And seriously, nuking other countries is the right thing to do?

12. Alas, The neocons and MIC will start waving the flag and shouting "support our troops!".
Which always drowns out the voices of those who oppose the always "necessary" wars.

17. I used to like the guy
Yeah. Not so much now.

Introduce a bill to actually tax rich people and to force corporations to pay their taxes. Also to defund/end the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan and our support of the Israeli military. Those would all be useful good things that would earn/save a lot of money. Letting Gaddafi massacre the Libyans when they asked the UN to help - not so much.

20. That is a reasonable action, all this impeachment crap was insanity
the amendment will fail miserably, if it is voted on at all, but he is doing his job and I don't have a problem with it.
