We should replace the word 'conservative'. As the wingers stomped all over the word 'Liberal',

We are truly conservative- not that we should take the word, but replace its meaning. We don't waste, we conserve. We protect the forests, the air, and the water with laws that protect the common good. We work to conserve people's rights and health care and jobs.

them to trash us when we're called what they're supposed to be called and like you said we're clearly more into conserving than they are.

In fact many countries have their own "conservative party" Albeit, it's usually the one that most closely resembles what we refer to as republicans. But if we start our own nutjobber movement but instead of calling it something really wimpy and hippie sounding like coffee party, we should call ourselves what we really are: conservatives.
