Do you know about Progressive States, the anti-ALEC?
http://www.progressivestates.org/campaigns

Since its founding in 2005, Progressive States Network has worked to build a network of progressive legislators committed to working with grassroots advocates, progressive policy institutions, unions and community groups to move progressive policy and transform the political debate across the fifty states. Through our email communication, conference calls, conferences and other work, we have brought strong progressive elected state leaders together with one another and with their key organizational allies to allow for better information exchange, strategic cooperation across states, and a deepening of links between like-minded progressive legislators and advocacy groups within each state.

On a range of specific camapaigns, the Progressive States Network, working with our partner organization, Progressive States Action, provides the coordinated strategic support to our legislative network and allies with the logistical and strategic advocacy tools necessary for advancing key progressive economic and social policies.

Have your state legislators signed the Wisconsin solidarity letter? Ask them to--they may not have heard of Progressive States.

384 legislators from 50 states & 2 territories stand with Wisconsin senators
Show all signers

It’s clear by now: the middle class is under a coordinated and sustained attack by the right wing in statehouses across the nation.

We have all watched as tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets in Wisconsin to stop an insidious and fast-tracked bill that would take away the right of public employees to collectively bargain -- and as a courageous group of 14 state senators stood up to deny a quorum until their constituents’ voices were heard.

Let's let Wisconsin state senators know that their colleagues across the nation stand in solidarity with them in this fight. Please take a few seconds right now to sign the open letter below, then ask your colleagues to do the same.

Let’s show the entire nation that legislators in all 50 states are truly standing up for the middle class.

1. All we ever hear about is ALEC. When I was writing my dissertation (political science),
nothing sourced was ever taken seriously unless I cited the opinion/stance of the ALEC. It is really disgusting and so transparent what this organization is really about.
