Wingnut VFW pisses me OFF yet again!1 cites chickenhawk Ruben NAVARRETTE
Edited on Tue Mar-29-11 09:35 PM by UTUSN
I'm a "life member" meaning that I paid $200 (to NEVER go to a single meeting).

I refused to join a local post because I would NOT salute the yokels who were Redneck a-holes. I am generic, paid the $200 and do NOT go to local meetings and only salute individuals who show some kind of MERIT.

I still receive (benefits of membership) the monthly 'zine, which I've hated, like when it has ALWAYS denigrated REAL veterans who happen to be Dems like KERRY and GORE, while propagandizing Wingnutism at every turn. I *did* request to be deleted from the mailing list, to no avail. I guess since their policy is that they will NEVER refund the membership fee they will, also, not retract the "benefits".

But THIS is bete noire to the max!1 In the current issue they do a typically Wingnut/TeaBagger piece on "Border Violence," AND as an authority, they quote one Ruben NAVARRETTE, a Clarence THOMAS type who does NOT represent his ostensible home group, who finds every opportunity to wingdance for the Shrub/CHEENEE bosses while always preaching/dictating/instructing Dems as to what they should be doing (to facilitate Rethug victories everywhere).

The VFW 'zine doesn't link, so here's the quote from Rubenny-boy:

"Thanks to Mexico's narco nightmare, our backyard is on fire. It will be a full-blown international crisis thatimpacts the lives of all Americans President Obama must start discussing the drug war in Mexico, with the American people, as a potential national security threat." --- Ruben NAVARRETTE, Jr., USA Today, Jan. 19, 2011

2. VFW has *always* kissed chikenhawk ass: O'LOOFAH
Edited on Tue Mar-29-11 10:37 PM by UTUSN

O'LOOFAH receiving the Erect Loofah award from the traitorous VFW:

and his chickenlegs:

Alan COLMES was at LAMONT hqtrs signing off, and a NEDhead, Mike STARK, behind him held up the standard blue LAMONT campaign sign. Then he slowly, cooly turned it over, and there was a hand printed sign, "HANNITY SUCKS ASS"!1 The camera stayed there a tad, then switched to HANNITY, who had a sheepish, martyred look: PRICELESS!1

3. If there were going to be a US military action I would fully support...
it would be the hunting and extermination of Mexico's drug cartels. I have personally witnessed the methods and results of drug cartels, although it was the cocaine cowboys of the mid 1980's. The current crop are, if anything, even more ruthless and violent. They have a chains of command, military weapons, and wage combat with planned objectives. Sounds like a valid military target to me. Mexico's issue does impact us and those disgusting scum need the proper administration of a lead supplement. Like it or not, this guy is largely correct.

6. If you're in the VFW, you salute rank. Merit has nothing to do with it.
If you can't handle that, drop out. It's not worth your effort if you're not into it.

I remember when I told my mother I was leaving the catholic church and wouldn't be coming back. I wanted my name scrubbed from all their records. She replied, "If you're leaving, why do you care what they have in their books?".

Made a lot of sense to me.

8. My grandfather never joined.
He didn't like the people there. He said he didn't know if any of them had ever been on the line.
