Would the judge in Wisconsin have the authority?
...to send the US Marshal to arrest the Governor of Wisconsin for contempt of court and to haul his sorry ass to the local jail if he disobeyed a legal order of the court?

Is the Governor above the law? Is the President above the law? Who interprets the law? Is it not the Judges that are elected or appointed in the different states?

Should not the Governor of Wisconsin be forewarned?

1. I know that sounds super fun and cool in concept, but this isn't a feature film.
So I am glad none of that "fun-to-pretend-drama" is just that.

2. How would a US Marshall have jurisdiction in the violation of a state law?

3. Great question...
have a feeling that Wisconsin and the 'powers that be' will be in court for possibly years from cases that are presently being developed on both sides...your point is just one of the matters that will be decided by judges and lawyers.

Only way to beat the Repugs at their own game is with either a chair in one hand, whip in the other or go to court to teach the buggers a lesson.

Maybe we should label all these actions: True Democracy at work.

4. I think, legally, the Dane County Sheriff
could arrest someone for contempt of a county circuit court.

5. Probably not.
I don't know WI law, but I imagine that any action would be substantially less dramatic than that.

6. But she has warned them twice...
If they ignore her ruling, I would suspect she would hold them in contempt of court?

7. Certainly possible, perhaps even probable.
However, I would imagine that the more likely scenario than a law enforcement showdown would be either the Gov escalating it to the next highest court via appeal, or the judge issuing an injunction against any state employees or authorized representatives from acting contrary to the court's ruling. If the Gov persisted, that would probably set the stage for a certain level of constitutional crisis on the state level. If the Legislature were honest, it would probably result in the Governor getting recalled/impeached/whatever they have up there, but being Rep controlled, honesty goes out the window.
