TOKYO, April 1 (Reuters) - Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said on Friday that the evacuation of residents near the country's stricken nuclear plant will be "long-term", as Japan's nuclear crisis stretched into a third week, with no end in sight.

6. That was my first thought as well.
It's very sad. Thanks for the link to the video; it's one I hadn't seen. Images of the abandoned fairground get to me every time.

2. Not sure if you guys picked up on this but TEPCO releases the bad news after the markets close
And they do it mostly around midnight time in Japan. It has been like that for several days now. They are almost quiet when the Japanese market opens, and start releasing the bad news once the market closes and usually at later night hours.
