Tea Party supporter calls into Thom Hartmann (Wednesday) regarding the stimulus package/unemployment
Note: If you listen to TH on a commercial radio station you didn't hear this call and others that Thom does for the commercial-free feeds on non-commercial radio, Free Speech TV, and Ustream.tv. It's a rare time I've heard a caller (not an interview guest) explicitly claim to be a Teabagger.

That call begins at the 1 hour 40 minutes mark of this video. Allen from Pittsburgh, Penn. says that he's a Tea Party Republican and addresses these topics:
- George W. Bush is no longer president, and Thom should stop invoking Bush's name. Thom responds that he's seldom said Bush other than "a dozen times in the past few weeks", but Bush still did a lot of damage.

Then Allen claims that Obama will cause more lingering damage, and Thom points out that every presidential administration since John Adams has always spent more than the previous one because government grows and inflation happens.

Now for another talking point: "the stimulus package was a complete failure"...Thom's response: it prevented a 20%+ unemployment rate and instead there's a 10% rate, but it doesn't count the 99ers/long term unemployed. Topic shifts to benefits. Caller: "How long do you need to be on unemployment?" Thom: "Until you can find a job. Right now there are five applicants for every job out there." The caller then asked about people who will choose to be lazy and go on the dole rather than find a job, and Thom responds that most people would rather work and says that the benefits create demand then jobs.
