850 jobs from Iowa to Mexico.
Mar. 31, 2011

The final 500 washer- and dryer-producing Electrolux employees will walk out for the last time throughout the day today, the last of 850 jobs that have been eliminated as part of the company's decision to move its laundry-related production to Juarez, Mexico.

1. To Juarez?
:wow:

That's some highly dangerous and deadly territory these days.

3. That's what I thought.
But then...I imagine corporate management won't be spending much time there so...

4. Management is going to have to spend a lot of time there
The employee 'no-show' and turnover rate will be so high they'll either have to be there training new people all the time or they'll have to work the plant themselves.

Oh wait..we will always still be making fast food like pizzas, hamburgers and coney dogs here, and according to Rethugs, those jobs could and should be counted in the BLS as "manufacturing" something...right?
