Gov. Rick Scott orders immediate cuts to programs for disabled
Edited on Fri Apr-01-11 05:28 AM by trumad
Way to go TeaBaggers!!! Way to go!

Florida Gov. Rick Scott ordered deep cuts Thursday to programs that serve tens of thousands of residents with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism and other developmental disabilities.

Though a range of state services face cuts from this year's Legislature, the governor invoked his emergency powers to order the state Agency for Persons with Disabilities to immediately roll back payments to group homes and social workers by 15 percent — an amount providers say could put them out of business and threaten their clients' safety.

"lt's not like, 'Gee, does this mean I have to skip a vacation this year?'" said Amy Van Bergen, executive director of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida. "Potentially, these cuts have life and death implications for these people."

1. Okay
Union busting
Cutting programs that effect the disabled
Death panels in Arizona

So, do we really have to wait until they murder 12 million people before we can call the Republicans by their true name?

15.  It isn't as if the Teabaggers are
advocates of gassing the disabled.

Instead they want them to suffer to death. :hi:

9. Thank you! I wish I were in Florida to help.
I've been on the board of a nonprofit that runs group homes for people with disabilities. There was never enough money and people are on waiting lists for years to get a spot. We already have too many aging and medically fragile parents who are in agony, worrying about who is going to care for their adult child with disabilities after they are gone.

Only a monster is capable of something like this.

21. Republicans are in the majority in Florida
and the teabaggers were out in force to vote. Also, the Dem candidate Alex Sink did not bother to campaign until right before the election so literally nobody knew who she was. Attention Democratic cadidates in Florida, it's a no-brainer but perhaps we need to remind you: if you don't campaign long and hard, you have not a snowball's chance in hell of being elected.

23. That son of a bitch
Can't have public access to health care, cut your means for living a decent life, BUT they believe in right to life???? Love the fetus...hate the baby. Remember the Terri Sciavo three ring circus? All they are doing is culling the herd. Why not just come out and say it. I swear to God most of these conservatives are nuts. There is an element of them in this country who I believe are fucking mutants. Something is truly missing, I mean really whacked out!!! There has to be something really wrong with you to even THINK of cutting services to those less fortunate. Yet they hide under their delusional cloak of family values and religion. WTF is going on? Rambling...maybe. Outraged...you bet I am.
