2. Right! No mortgage for a house. No loans for a car or for college.
Use credit cards.

Sure just like a family.

6. Actually
What's missing is that Dad needs to have a big-screen TV, expensive car, and tons of other toys-for-boys, symbolizing our out-of-control Defense budget.

(Although, come to think of it, I do know families who budget like that...)

5. 'cuz in most families, the biggest earner asks the boss for a pay cut to keep spending under control
the whole "budget like a family" think is one of the most idiotic things i've ever heard come from republican mouths, though there's plenty of fierce competition.

my household isn't immortal, doesn't have the ability to print money or raise it by fiat, and doesn't have great ability to regulate its surroundings and economic conditions. households have an incentive to make and save as much as possible; governments that make and save as much as possible generally fall to revolutions.

so many differences the comparison is ridiculous.

but ridiculous never stops republicans....

9. That's a mighty fine-lookin' safety pin on Mom
Why doesn't she sell that to feed her children? Does she love the safety pin more than her children? There's just no helping people with values that warped!
