In 2010, CEO Pay Went Up 27% While Worker Pay Went Up 2%
http://thinkprogress.org/2011/04/01/ceo-recession-return/

Households across the country are still feeling the effects of the Great Recession, with unemployment falling very slowly, while foreclosures are still increasing, along with poverty rates and oil prices. However, one group of Americans is doing very well — corporate CEOs, whose pay is returning to pre-recession levels:

At a time most employees can barely remember their last substantial raise, median CEO pay jumped 27% in 2010 as the executives’ compensation started working its way back to prerecession levels, a USA TODAY analysis of data from GovernanceMetrics International found. Workers in private industry, meanwhile, saw their compensation grow just 2.1% in the 12 months ended December 2010, says the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Median CEO pay last year was $9 million, the highest since 2007. The median CEO bonus was $2.2 million. Family wealth, meanwhile, is currently down $12.8 trillion from its 2007 peak.

--------

There's a lot of bragging going on today about the increase in jobs, but this is still the reality. Your pay still sucks, unless you are a CEO.

1. That's why hanging on to every tiny increase in jobs is silly...
Dramatically major moves have to be made. Trying to restore the status quo (credit bubble economy) is a sure recipe for disaster.

2. There isn't a lot of "bragging" going on. Just reporting of some good news. It says a lot about you-
That you see the reporting of some good news as "bragging".

There may be too many unemployed right now. But SOME people got jobs that needed them. And it is screwed up that some DU'ers hate that fact and need to diminish it.

I didn't say it wasn't good news. And no, I don't "hate" it.

Have a better day.

By the way, this information comes from the Center For American Progress, not me personally.

6. Can't you own your choice of words? You didn't just present that info. You added
commentary.

10. Okay. 'Reporting of good news' works.
Fair enough.

Bragging, well yes the administration will play this up. They should. Because it's true.

Bragging doesn't necessarily mean bad. Their stats back them up.

That's what I was saying in my comment in the OP.

I hope this helps clear it up.

5. 2% is not real increase. Inflation for necessary goods, like food and gas was more than 2%
So in fact peasant's salaries are decreasing
