OMG - Shut the F*ck up about the teaparty already!!
The teaparty wants this, the teaparty wants that. The teaparty wants to shut the government down.

Who CARES??

And I am listening to that "liberal" station Msnbc...

WHEN are they going to pay attention to the real grassroots movement that has 10 times more supporters than the kochbaggers - the Working Class???

Ugh - I am soooo frustrated and I had to vent.

To all the people that are going to respond "turn it off" - what good does that do unless everyone watching msnbc this morning turns it off? I already know the truth about the teabaggers, it's the rest of the people that are listening is what I worry about.

1. Millions of American workers come out in solidarity
all over the country to help their brethren in Wisconsin Ohio and Mo, and there is not a lick of coverage. 200 Tea BAggers protest at the White House and they are all over the fucking news.

This country has become a JOKE.

8. Exactly. It was the same when bsh was president. All the people marching in the streets
against Iraq, all the candle light vigils. Nothing. Maybe an hour or two on C-Span once a year.

But the teabaggers? You would think they were royalty.

30. It is Our Media That is a Joke
The MSM doesn't cover our protests because their owners forbid them from doing so.

We get more coverage on Al Jazeera than on any US networks.

If dozens of hateful morons can "descend" on DC to listen to that gasbag Michelle Bachmann they must be a viable political force no?

I'm amazed at how often these pricks along with gatherings like CPAC garner almost 24/7 coverage while there is no mention of yearly kos or any left leaning gathering, like the thousands in Wisconsin over the last several weeks, no matter how many people show up.

4. Because the GOP plays to its base while Democrats sweep their base under the carpet
Not all Democrats, but too many adopt the same talking points as the GOP, and fight the fights on GOP terms rather than truly Democratic ones.

As a result, the message that gets out to the media are GOP/Teabag talking points while Democrats merely "counter" with kinder and gentler versions of the same basic assumptions -- thus allowing the GOP to set the talking points.

As soon as "they" adopt the Republican framing, the battle is LOST.
Its almost like "they" WANT to lose.

....AND that includes OUR President and that "Shared Sacrifice" BULLSHIT!

Who will STAND and FIGHT for THIS American Majority?
Lofty Rhetoric, Empty Promises, and Excuses mean NOTHING now.
"By their WORKS you will know them,"
and by their WORKS they will be held accountable.

Unfortunately, we simply can't ignore the teabaggers, not when they're in the process of fucking us over. Look at what they're doing in Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida, Michigan, Arizona, Texas, and other places. You want us to "shut the fuck up" about them and pretend not to see what they're doing? You want us to bury our heads in the sand and pretend that if we ignore them, they'll just go away?

13. No - but I feel like the media is getting their message out for them.
They report on everything the teabaggers do. The msm empowers them, makes them relevant.

All I am asking for is for the same amount of reporting on the grassroots movement that is happening in states all over the country.

Fair and balanced - haha - that's all I want.

reacting just like you, so don't worry. :pals:

That being said, I just don't get WHY they would spend time covering it, except they (baggers) DO seem to have the Republicans over a barrel and that's news I like to hear! They may have screwed themselves by kowtowing to them in the first place.

40. I like the analogy that one opinion writer made.
The writer wrote a piece of the tone "Why would a man knowingly jump off cliff?". The answer that the writer gave is when a tiger is chasing the man. The man are traditional republicans, the tiger are teabaggers. Republicans have made their deal with the devil, now they must be made to pay. Democrats must take advantage of republicans at every chance and destroy them.

In the last 30 or so minutes, there have been four separate threads here on DU with 'Tea Party' or 'Teabagger' in the title. At least on the progressive left, there seems to be a lot of interest in the Tea Party. It's not supportive interest, but it's still interest.

14. They're scared sh*tless of the real grassroots movement...
...and the fact that it has 10 times or more realistically 10,000 times the people behind it is exactly why they won't report on it. Because, you know, it's a mob. Even though the "mob" in Wisconsin demonstrated day after day in the cold and never indulged in any violence, it's still a mob to them -- unruly, uncontrollable, not like the fine upstanding tea partiers who run around with guns at their hips and threatening signs and tea bags hanging from their hats (but don't you dare call them "tea baggers", why that's hate speech!).

The fix is in.

It is up to us, the great unwashed, to unfix it. We will have to do it without the support or even acknowledgment of the elites and the media.

They like the way things are now, in fact they think we should have more income and wealth inequality, fewer unions, fewer regulations, etc. Because it's serving them JUST FINE. And they like having peons to shine their shoes. Really, they're just fine with it. We really are at the "Let them eat cake" moment.

19. I think it's a marketing thing. We need something catchy and evocative.
The teabaggers have usurped a major event from the narrative of our nations founding. The basic thing they stand for is simple: they are anti-taxes and anti-government. Seems pretty unpatriotic to me. I always figured paying my taxes was doing my part for our country: whether for good or for ill.

Anyway. The things we stand for are many and varied. Social justice. Equal rights. Science. Truth. Etc.
What catchy thing can we get the media to pick up on? The coffee party was (is) neat but sedate. We need something with fire. Something that democratic politicians seem to lack these days...

Sorry for rambling. I like to free-think as I write.

I would hope the working class would band together but the FACT IS many in the "working class" are TEA BAGGERS & voted these idiots into office! They are being told how to vote by FOX "News" Talk Radio & MOST OF ALL THEIR CHURCHES!!!!

There are tons of churches out there openly violating the law & telling their sheep who to vote for...They are literally daring the government to stop them...And since Democrats are too scared to say ANYTHING out of fear of giving the Republicans fuel to continue calling Democrats the godless party then this will continue until it is too big to stop!
