Japan Nuclear Crisis: Worker Speaks Out About Radiation Dangers
International nuclear experts believe that melted fuel in reactor No. 1 has caused a "localized criticality," which is a small, uncontrolled chain reaction that occasionally emits a burst of heat, radiation and a blue flash of light.

It is not a threat to the area at large, officials say, but could be deadly for workers.

One worker from inside the plant spoke anonymously about safety concerns such as not having enough radiation-detection devices available for workers.

...

"Since the number of monitors is limited, only one or two devices are handed to each group," the worker said. "But sometimes you have to move away from that person and in that case you'll never know the level of your exposure."

1. "It is not a threat to the area at large, but could be deadly for workers." Translation:
The workers will die horrible deaths and the cause will be undeniable. Many of the public will die, but we'll do our utmost to hide it.

2. That Also Means They Can't Entomb It
The heat and pressure would have nowhere to go.

Critical mass + heat + pressure = :nuke:

3. Can you -or somebody- explain what that will do to the earth?
Thanks in advance.

4. "It is not a threat to the area at large, officials say"
As long as these uncontrolled reactors continue to emit radiation, they remain a local, nationwide, and global threat that are like for example, rocks being continuously tossed into water, with the resulting radioactive ripples ever continuing and expanding, albeit weakening as they travel. But it is the "continuing" part, as well as the threat of the irradiated land and water table within/below the Fukushima plant becoming so deadly, that it might eventually become impossible to get close enough to the reactors and continue to spray water into them from a sufficiently or from a relatively "safe" distance. Who other than TEPCO and perhaps some high level officials in government, knows for certain if the people of Japan, and the rest of the world are being told the complete truth, and that it is still (or ever has been) safe for their workers to do so now, other than the fact that the workers won't/haven't become very ill or died immediately, quickly, or might become so within weeks, months, or years as yet.
