Arianna: The Huffington Post Is Not A ‘Lefty’ Publication Anymore
By Stephen C. Webster
Friday, April 1st, 2011 -- 11:45 am

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Arianna Huffington revealed a bit of news that's not likely to show up on The Huffington Post's front page any time soon: the site is no longer "lefty" in its political bent.

That will likely come as a surprise to the massive audience of Democrats and liberals The Huffington Post has attracted over the years, who've turned the site into a powerful voice for progressive values and one of the largest online publications going.

Speaking to New York Times reporter Andrew Goldman, Huffington said that for the last three years she has been walking the post-partisan talk.

"The tag line that we’ve used a lot is 'Beyond left and right,'" she reportedly said.

4. So, basically
a subsidy of McPravda now.

I don't go to HuffPo anymore. Pointless!

There are plenty of good sources out there and flexibility and adaptation are the name of the game.

9. File that under 'No shit, Sherlock'...
The thought that it comes as a surprise to the "massive audience" of Democrats and liberals that visit the site is laughable...

I haven't been there since she sold out to AOL..I wonder if they have posted, or would be willing to post, the amount of traffic that has stopped going to the site and/or cancelled their logins there since that date...

I'm just waiting for His Keithiness to make his presence properly felt at Current TV...

11. She did what a lot of 'former' Republicans did.
She filled a vaccuum by starting a blog that attracted democrats and then when she used them to build up a huge audience, she was able to sell it. Now that she made her money, she doesn't need the 'left' anymore.

I feel sorry for the people who were used.

14. Another sell-out
But this one wasn't a surprise.

The voices and viewpoints of the Left made her a very wealthy woman.
The voices and viewpoints of the Left made a President and gave him a REAL mandate.

We are expendable.

Get used to it!

in the same sense that you or I might want a cold beer.

23. People that read HuffPo are like people that watch MSNBC
They are idiots. When will people learn that getting their "liberal" news from the GE corporation or a former wife of a Republican isn't a good idea.

26. Not a surprise to progressives..
I don;t really thing it ever really was all that "left".. Many people thought it was because it was a mainstream-ish place where a lot of progressive writers finally found a venue that welcomed them, but of course now that she has sold out..not so much maybe..

She used those writers to bolster her site's visibility, but now that she's got all the money, watch her move onto the "next thing"..

This is her modus operandi
