President Obama claims his chief job is to protect Americans. I know this has
been translated "from foreign threats". Does he propose to protect us from internal threats such as Banksters, Wallsters, Corps that destroy our jobs, companies that pollute our air, water, and food? These latter things are actually hurting millions of Americans and, I'm sure, there have been many deaths because of these internal threats. Please keep your promise President Obama and protect Americans abroad and AT HOME. Thank you.

1. Try not to get too upset if he continues to look forward. Negative emotions are known to cause
health issues and it's not like we have a single payer health care system in place to help heal you.

2. That is bullshit.
His job is to uphold the constitution.

That's the same crap the chimp was spouting. It's BS!

6. The presidential oath of office is short and sweet.
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

That's it. Nothing about protecting us, only the constitution.

I don't want him trying to protect me. He's clueless.

Even 1% is too large.

4. Liberty or fucking DEATH mr prez.

"I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and I will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Well lookey there. Nothing he claims as his "#1 job" is anywhere in his oath of office. huh.

So far, no. Which is weird, because that's the Have-Mores' base. The Democratic base, FWIR, are more the working people and middle classes, as well as the educated, the liberal, the progressive, members of minorities, the poor. Oh, yeah, there's a few rich people in there, but not the whole bloomin' thing.

Excellent post, theophilus. Thank you!

15. Last Monday, in his speech on Libya he said
"As Commander-in-Chief, I have no greater responsibility than keeping this country safe." That is what I heard that struck me. This country is far from safe from the internal threats I mentioned. I hope he will work hard to keep Americans safe by employing progressive ideas.

16. Thank you for the quote. I can see how you'd take it that way.
Could be the difference between a responsibility and his job?
" his chief job is to protect Americans" vs " I have no greater responsibility than keeping this country safe". I need to think on this for a bit. Thanks for the clarification.

9. Would proffer BHO's chief responsibility is to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution
of the United States, that all else must be subordinated to this over-riding and paramount responsibility. :patriot:

13. "foreign and domestic" applies to Military service men and women....
...so it surely must apply to the Commander in Chief.

As for defining "domestic", how about AIG, Goldman Sachs, Koch brothers, etc., etc., etc.?
