Hands of American Rulers Behind the Crime of the Holy Quran Burning; unquestionable
Edited on Fri Apr-01-11 02:23 PM by nalnn
Source: shahamat.info(english)

Some international media outlets reported on the evening of Friday last that Terry Jones, pastor at a church in Gaineville, Florida set fire to a copy of the Holy Quran on Tuesday after a fake trial. According to this Satan, the Holy Quran teaches murder and terrorism in

the world. This devilish American pastor had been threatening for the last six months persistently that he would burn hundreds of copies of the Holy Quran on September 11.

--SNIP--

Though the American rulers say, the burning of the Holy Quran falls under the category of freedom of speech but the question arises if a Muslim reacts to the bestial step of Terry Jones in a self-same manner, then would the American rulers and media tolerate it under the rules of the freedom of speech and would they remain silent? Or rather that the Americans including the rulers, politicians, religious followers and media of the West will simultaneously, run a mock and refer the case to the Security Council and the United Nations?

This site is the English version of the Taliban's web presence.

In answer to the question highlighted in bold? Yes, America would remain silent if the Taliban (or any other Muslim) burned a bible.

1. "America would remain silent if the Taliban (or any other Muslim) burned a bible"
Many Americans would, but any number of TV preachers would blame the next natural disaster on the fact that we didn't nuke the responsible parties.

And their viewers would agree.

2. Really dumb to be afraid to read a book.
Especially one that owes so much to the Bible.

6. Yah
Hence the disclaimer. The topic however is relevant and timely. There are two or three articles today in LBN re: this very topic.

7. Islam is also
Islam is a very splintered group as well. Maybe not as much as Christianity though. Plus Christianity is predominately a western religion so make of that what you will.

8. Is Christianity predominately western?
I seriously don't know the stats, but there are certainly a huge number of Christians in Africa, and in Asian countries, such as India, though the percentage of Christians may be small, I'm sure the numbers are huge just because of population. I think it's sobering to remember that we as westerners are basically a minority in the world. Something like 30% of the world's population lives in China and India.

Or even exaggerated but I think I am close to right. Here look at the world distribution map here
My point really is that xtianity has more of "western" philosophy, while I think of Islam as more "eastern(?)"

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/sep/09/quran-burning-terry-jones-sect-germany

"When he arrived in Germany on what he called his "God-sent" mission in 1982, charismatic bible fundamentalist Terry Jones came with a message of hope, promising to show his followers the "riches of the kingdom of God".

Germany, he said, was "central" to his plans to lead the "Christian awakening of Europe".

At prayer rallies that were used as recruitment drives, congregations dropped to their knees in worship or danced ecstatically in the aisles, so taken were they by him.

But when Jones left Cologne 26 years later it was as a disgraced preacher who was accused of running a sect-like community with an iron fist, forcing members to give him a percentage of their earnings, making them work for little or no money and causing the breakup of families and friendships. He also faked a title as "Doctor of Theology", for which he was fined.

As tension mounted ahead of Jones's plan to burn Qur'ans at his Florida church, it emerged that he had been dismissed by the board of the Christian Community of Cologne in 2008 after years of strife.........."

11. Fuck it, I'd SEND them a bible to burn if they'd stop blowing people up.

Although I'd really rather Terry Jones go burn his Quran in the streets of Afghanistan.

The coward burns it in America, hiding behind the safety of the American military that he puts in danger.

12. You make a very good point
This preacher's burning of Korans does, in fact, put direct pressure on American troops operating in that region. I somehow don't think that he has considered this.

Of course, I do not doubt that our military could withstand any danger brought about by this, but it's this simple variable (burning korans and the riots and violence that inevitably follow) that should not even be introduced.
