Another Day Of SF Bay Area Record High Temps
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) — Several Bay Area cities experienced record- or near-record-breaking high temperatures for a second-straight day Thursday.
A ridge of high pressure and an offshore flow of air were causing the atmosphere above the region to heat up, according to CBS 5 meteorologist Lawrence Karnow.

The resulting high temperatures broke or tied records in Oakland, San Francisco and Santa Rosa on Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

San Francisco tied its record high of 82 degrees set in 2000; Oakland hit 83 breaking its record also set in 2000 when the temperature reached 80 degrees; and Santa Rosa hit 83 too — tying its record from 2000.

On Wednesday, record highs were reached in six Bay Area cities: Santa Rosa (85), San Rafael (82), Napa (86), San Francisco (82), Oakland (83), and Mountain View (79).

2. We've earned it, if you ask me!
Though technically I'd be happier with a drop of 5-7 degrees :)

3. When I lived there, one summer day it was over 100 at our home in Oakland, ...
so we drove over to The City for cooler air (of course we didn't have AC in the Bay Area). When we got to SF, it was 105! More unbelievable than snow.

4. Spring and Fall are the warmest seasons in SF, it seems.
Summer months are breezier, more overcast.

7. I'm loving it.
It was pushing 90 degrees here yesterday. We're finally getting some gardening done after weeks of rain.

and I'm lucky enough to have today and tomorrow off. Plus, the high-volume screams and squeals of delight from the school next door as the rampaging little kids do their thing is music to my ears.

Wednesday night I took some friends from Chicago to the old Korea House on Post Street. They stayed right across the street at Hotel Kabuki. What a beautiful warm San Francisco evening to show off The City.

13. Loving it.
Last week I drove through flooded streets and went home and cried, sick of rain. This has been the longest spate of crappy weather in recent memory. I hope this summer is glorious, last year's sucked.
