Stupidity or false flag op? Idiot WI AFSCME rep circulates letter threatening small businesses
Edited on Fri Apr-01-11 10:40 PM by brentspeak
Was this guy paid big bucks by GOP/US Chamber of Commerce Dirty Tricks Inc. to undermine the public unions' efforts from within? Now every RW rag in the country is hawking this story as an example of union "thuggery", despite AFSCME disowning the circulated letter. I have a feeling that many of the telephone threats Jim Parrett has received are actually from union members who can't believe one of their own reps just seriously undermined them.

Union Leader Threatens Boycott Of Businesses Who Don't Support Them

UNION GROVE, Wis. -- Dawn Bobo, owner of the Village Dollar variety store in Union Grove, said she's not taking a side in the collective bargaining fight between unions and Republicans, so when someone asked her to put a pro-union sign up in her store, she said no.

Then she got a two-page letter from a union leader.

"It told me because I didn't take a sign they were going to publicly boycott me," Bobo said.

The letter is signed by AFSCME Council 24 Field Rep Jim Parrett, who did not return repeated calls and an email.

Union rank-and-file are trying to undo the damage the letter might have caused:

Capitol Chaos: Union Upset Over Letter

UNION GROVE - Local union members apologized to business owners Thursday after hearing union leadership threatened to boycott businesses.

The stunning development happened late Thursday afternoon at Village Dollar, where members with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees showed their support to businesses that were targeted.

It all started after Dawn Bobo, owner of Village Dollar in Union Grove, refused to put up a sign supporting AFSCME.

The public union is against Governor Scott Walker's plan to take away most collective bargaining rights for its members.

2. I have no problem with these types of boycotts
In fact, this is exactly the way to neutralize the likes of Rush Limbaugh. Local boycotts of advertisers on his show are his achilles heel.

As far as this Dawn Bobo is concerned, I would NEVER shop at her establishment.
